Statement of Intent
Obtaining a graduate degree in Web design originates from my general fascination with the World Wide Web. As part of my education in obtaining my Bachelors’ degree in computer networking, I was exposed to some aspects of web design. In recent years, and after some self-training in HTML, I began using standard web design programs to feed my interest and eventually began applying it to create several web pages. (See Portfolio for samples) To further my development, I took a web design course through Penn Foster and began learning more of the design aspects. I am particularly interested in obtaining a graduate degree in web design and eventually use in a professional career.
Academy of Arts motivates me because it incorporates the training and educational skills of web design that I am striving to acquire. Therefore, my immediate goal is to attend Academy of Arts where I hope to learn all aspects of web design. Specifically, my goal is to enhance my knowledge of all web design creation including programming and design and use it in professional and personal environments. I hope to become proficient in Flash, PHP, MYSQL, etc., and any other programs, and also begin my educational training on designing websites altogether. I am excited to learn more with respect to incorporating various audio and video files. Ultimately, graduating from a graduate program will also provide me with the skills necessary to troubleshoot and overall general problem-solving skills using the most up to date design competence and ability.
